Pumpernickel was turned in to the vet by someone who found her injured and alone. It is thought that she had been on her own for quite a while, possibly weeks. She was gaunt and the cable from a ‘tie-out’ was deeply embedded in her leg. She had permanent nerve damage and amputation was the only answer. During her entire vet stay she was giving kisses and love, even through her painful days. Dr. Tim Logan and his staff took great care of her until she was able to leave the hospital. She never lost her zeal through the transition with her leg and moving into the shelter. All the while charming all who met her along this journey. She took on navigating steps and leash walking like a champ. It would be very hard to feel sad while being around Pumpernickel. Her ‘disability’ is not the focus, her ‘happy’ is. Pumpernickel has been adopted by a family who promises to love her and make sure she has the amazing life she deserves. Enjoy it all, Pumpernickel...
